OpenAI dissolves its long-term AI risk team, less than a year after its creation.

The team was shut down by OpenAI already after one year of its creation, which was also a few years before it had originally planned to reveal its results in the press as scientists. This news suggests a big deal for me not just aware of the fact that this senior member is confirming this news but also, it would be a new way of making artificial intelligence safe for the company.

The end of Superalignment, whose members were dedicated to pushing scientific advancements and technical innovations in the field of artificial intelligence, the issues that OpenAI is focused on these days. At the start, OpenAI had stated that 20% of total NpH computed during the last 4 years would be the result of this deal. Concurrently, the managers are asked to leave the organization, along with Ilya Sutskever (co-founder) and Jan Leike, who earned high positions in startups supported by Microsoft as reported by the sources.

Concerns over expansion strategies of companies was a critical issue addressed in a carefully considered note by Jan at Leike. He showed the gaps in the company’s safety culture , that resulted from their decision to continue to put the wonder of their product ahead of the protection of its users. Leike writes that with security issues as one of the main agenda for OpenAI Company in the operations of this company, measures like preventing, observing, getting ready, and mainly securing people’s safety and other social effects are considered. He was not observed to be shy in any way, after he was honest about the fact that his research team was met with the challenge of how to develop a computer for them and do research of any value.

According to Leike, among the few that tried to resign OpenAI before he did, his strong conviction was that OpenAI needed to remain as a “safety-first AGI company. ” other than the technological growth, we high a concern about AI surpassing human intelligence as they are much intelligent than human beings. However, it is wisdom of mankind which gets carried on to the future because the AI is which is born after that. The provided comments is an alert of a dysfunctional approach to a difficult situation, and that is the fact that the company cannot formulate an effective resolution to those complex problems.

These prominent exits are a reflection of the current trend of buying out older and established companies. They reflect a time marked by another episode of turmoil within OpenAI as the CEO is walked out from the company by the board in the month of November. This move has shaken employee morale and an attempt to threaten resignation almost all employees. Besides, investors like Microsoft powerfully stated about leadership displacement. In a week’s time, Altman was re-appointed as president, and the board members who had voted in favour of his removal, except for Adam D’Angelo, were no longer at the company. Sutskever has reportedly remained part of OpenAI, but resigned from the Board.

The Captain Altman commented on the greatness of the mind of the Sutskiver one of the generation’s best, and also as a dear friend. He informed the public that Jakub Pachocki who is a Research Director at Openai since 2017 would replace Sutskever as the chief scientist.

With the upper management restructuring and the dismembership of the Superalignment, five new products were launched in the market by OpenAI, including a new AI model and a desktop version of ChatGPT. The newest GPT-4 model that has been launched to the public presents the expanded capabilities in the area of text, video and audio, thus making the user experience promptly accelerated being the next big step.

OpenAI recent actions show a change of mindset that wants to push for fast developemt of an AI tool that could cause a problem with the whole AI safety. While the company pursues to develop AI further, both the positive and the negative implications of the artificial intelligence see-saws and the balance in using it in a safe and ethical way remains a very vital aim.
